Metabolomes and data-driven systems biology

We have developed a novel technology for high-throughput metabolome analysis based on capillary electrophoresis time-of-flight mass spectrometry (CE-TOFMS), which can quantify a large amount of cellular metabolites simultaneously. We have applied this technology to various fields of systems biology, including (1) biomarker discovery of hepatotoxicity, (2) hypoxia-induced metabolism of red blood cell, (3) multi-omics of E. coli single-gene-deletion mutants, and (4) cancer-specific energy metabolism in glucose limited conditions.
